1.) How Much Do Your Cakes Cost? We are a full service cakery, and strive to accommodate any budget. When ordering one of our cakes, please realize that you are not ordering a cake out of a display case, but you are commissioning a one of a kind consumable work of art that is personalized to you. We never make the same cake twice! Our cakes are custom quoted and made to order. It is very hard to quote a price prior to some form of consultation, mainly because all aspects of the project must be in place before a accurate quote can be given. The price of a cake depends on the number of servings, complexity of the design, ingredients used, production time, as well as delivery and set up charges. Due to the "Sweetness" of our designs, we require a $100 minimum on MOST Fondant Covered Cakes, a $350 minimum on MOST Carved or Sculpted Cakes, a minimum of $3.50 per serving on ALL Buttercream Wedding Cakes, and a minimum of $5.00 per serving on all Fondant Covered Specialty Wedding Cakes. We have many options available for under $100 in our Online Store, and we also offer many cakes of the more classic and traditional variety...so you can request a Custom Quote. If you are price shopping, please make sure you are comparing apples to apples, because we know our prices are competitive, based on the specific products we produce. If you have a budget in place, then make sure you let us know, so we can design a cake according to that specific price point. Contact us today to talk about your needs, and we promise we’ll make everything as painless as possible! |

2.) What type of payment do you accept? We currently accept Cash, Check, Money Order, Most Major Credit Cards, Google Checkout, and Pay Pal. A Non-Refundable 50% deposit is required to officially place an order and secure your date. Payment in full must be received no later than 2 WEEKS prior to the event or due date. 3.) How long does it take to make a cake, and how much lead time do you need? We request approximately 2 WEEKS notice or more, before an event or special occasion...but please don’t hesitate to call if you have a last minute order. We’ll work with you...and if we can make it happen, we will! 4.) Do you Deliver? Yes we do...and we limit our deliveries to no more than 8 hours from the North Western Suburbs of Philadelphia (Norristown/Trooper, PA). A delivery and set up charge may apply based on the distance traveled and time spent. Free Delivery is available within close proximity to our location, and to various other locations (some restrictions may apply). We do not currently ship our specialty cakes, but shipping is available on certain seasonal and specialty items. We do require delivery on items with a certain level of intricacy and artistry, but often times you are welcome to pick up your cake at our location. Sweet Talk can not be responsible for anything that occurs to the cake after it leaves the premises, but we assure you, we will do everything in our power to make sure that the "Sweetness" makes it safely to the destination. 5.) What is Fondant? (I heard it's gross....is that True?) Fondant is a Rolled Sugar Dough, and we use it for Covering Cakes, Decorating Cakes, and Sculpting Various Design Elements for our Cakes. Fondant allows you to do so much more with the design of a cake, and really gives the cake a very smooth, clean look to say the least. We also feel that it seals in the freshness of the cake once it's applied, and keeps the cake even more moist and delicious than just buttercream alone. There are quite a few companies out there that make and sell fondant, and some folks make their own. Sweet Talk currently uses Satin Ice Fondant , a clear industry leading company with a terrific tasting product. Fondant comes in many flavors, with the most popular being Vanilla and Chocolate. If you've had someone tell you it's gross, be sure to at least try a sample of ours, because we don't think it's gross, or we wouldn't use it. We feel that some people may have had a bad batch along the way, and may be misleading people. Fondant really does appeal to most people, and if for some reason one of your guests isn't a fan, the fondant can always be removed from the individual's slice of cake without compromising anything at all. 6.) What do I need to bring to my consultation? We ask that you bring photo references, inspirational patterns, any type of design elements, cake toppers, hand held portable computers, smart phones, lap tops, digital internet reference images, sketches, whatever you wish...but mainly just bring yourselves. You can expect a very informal, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere when you come to our location...and we are looking forward to meeting you! We do ask that you try not to bring small children if at all possible, but if you must then we surely understand. 7.) How do you handle Food Allergies? We are more than happy to cater to any special requirements you may have. We currently offer a wide variety of specialty products of this nature, and we recommend you contact us directly to talk about any special dietary requirements. 8.) Do you have any Cakes or Cupcakes that I can just come by and pick up? We are not a retail location, and we ask that you make an appointment or order in advance if possible....however we almost always have our popular flavors available for tastings and quick orders. If you have a last minute order, don't hesitate to contact us, because often times we'll gladly accomodate your needs. With all that being said, please know that we are not Fort Knox, the Oval Office, or the Playboy Mansion, and we are not trying to discourage you from dropping by. We are very proud of our facility, not to mention we would absolutely love to meet you and show you around if possible. 9.) Can I taste your Cake? Absolutely...we would love for you to Sample the Sweetness! Tastings are complimentary for orders of $250 and above, and Wedding Consultations and Tastings are always FREE of Charge. You are welcome to try Four Flavor Combinations of your choice, as well as a sample of our fondant if applicable. Tastings for smaller orders or additional flavor combinations may require a small tasting fee. 10.) What is your Cancellation Policy? We require at least 72 HOURS NOTICE to cancel an order. If we secure a date and time for you, that means that we are unable to accept any other orders for that corresponding time slot or day, and are also commiting ourselves to take the necessary internal steps to complete your project. By cancelling your order, you are leaving us with an open slot that may not, and most likely will not, be filled by another order...not to mention the preparation, time spent, and potential work done on your project will need to be compensated for. For this reason, your deposit is unfortunately NOT REFUNDABLE, and we need to receive your cancellation request within our required time frame, or you will be required to pay for the full amount. |
